If you are currently an NQT being inducted with the Buckinghamshire Learning Trust then you can join the Facebook support group, where you can ask questions of BLT support staff and peers. Membership is by approval and you must be on the current NQT database to be approved. If the name you use on Facebook is significantly different to the name under which you are registered as an NQT, then please contact the NQT support staff so that they can approve you.

You can access specific NQT information in the PDF below, including checklists of priorities and essential information.

Are You an Overseas Trained Teacher?
The rules governing the employment of Overseas Trained Teachers (OTTs) must be read and understood before a school takes on an OTT.

In terms of NQT Induction, the Appropriate Body cannot take on an OTT who does not hold qualified teacher status (QTS).  The teacher must first be awarded QTS by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL).  Therefore, schools should not register their OTTs as NQTs with us until they have gained QTS.

To find out how to obtain qualified teacher status (QTS), in order to teach in a maintained school or non-maintained special school in England please go to our Overseas Trained Teachers section for further information.   This should be treated as a matter of priority as soon as you have been offered a teaching position.
